Not a ‘botched’ intercept - they are protecting their fleet in harbor. So once again I ask... ‘why are we attacking the Russian fleet?’ Did I miss Congress declaring war on Russia?
We are not attacking. Ukraine is using the weapons.

Ukraine is attacking the harbor of Sebastopol in order to interdict its use for supplying Russian forces occupying Southern Ukraine.
The US (and half the world too) are supplying aid to Ukraine in order to repel this Russian aggression. This aid is due to Ukraine according to various international guarantees given Ukraine, plus the prudential cause of discouraging this sort of international aggression.
