Italy was filled with Fascists until Mussolini ended up hanging from a meat hook.
For the sake of accuracy, I must point out that Italy fell out with the fascists in September 1943, when King Victor Emmanuel dismissed the fascist government and switched sides, joining the Allies in fighting against the Axis. When the Nazis freed Mussolini from prison, he formed a small substate in Northern Italy called the Italian Social Republic, with Mussolini as the puppet of the German occupiers. This was about 18 months before Mussolini was hung upside down and pumped full of lead on April 28, 1945.
