That applies to lots of folks. Go back to Cruz who’s flip-flopped on Trump, only clear on supporting him when he needed Trump’s help to drag him over the finish line against Beto. Or JD Vance, a Never Trumper until he also needed Trump’s help to get elected.
It’s true of many politicians. I’m just pointing out my observations from a lifetime of following human nature.
