The District of Columbia is 61 square miles and a 2024 population of approximately 700,000. For contrast, Houston Texas, 2023 population approximately 2.3 million is 639 miles. Austin, 2023 population approximately 979,000 is 319 square miles. Neither the City of Austin nor Houston has it’s own “Appeals Court”. D.C. does. It should be shut down.
Neither Austin or Houston have their own felony criminal courts. Criminal Courts are handled by the State of Texas in both Cities.
In short, D.C. should be split right down the geographic middle between Virginia and Maryland. All “D.C.City Services should be split accordingly and all agencies closed in D.C. Maryland would assume all jurisdiction on the North and Virginia would assume all jurisciction on the south.
All government agencies of any kind or nature whatsover that are obstensibly there to administer “D.C.” business (not the Federal Government’s) should be closed and said affairs transferred to either Virginia or Maryland.
Like California, D.C. is incapable of taking care of it’s own business. The difference is D.C. is Americas capital and needs D.C. run by sane adults. California can flush itself down the toilet if it wants.

If his plan is to dismantle a major federal agency, then he better stop making conservatives his enemies and trying to keep them out of Congress, because he sure as hell is hot won’t get it done with his establishment RINO buddies.

The Department of Education dates back to Carter, but before that there was a Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW). Didn’t they just split off part of the existing department to create the new one?

I’d start with the doj. THere should be no federal laws for much anyhow. given the enumerated powers. next the CIA and that filth.

I would call that “DRAINING THE SWAMP”! It’s exactly what Trump is running on, and it’s time people actually understand how overdue that is. We desperately need to restrict power from our money grubbing bureaucracy and return to real constitutional federal government with LIBERTY AND JUSTICE for all.
I would set up some great digs in Nome, AK. Transfer each dept one by one. You get a cot, phone, desk, no internet. SSe how long they last. Let them self eradicate. Then just be real slow on the replacement hiring.
