What happens if New York jails Trump next month? What are the voters in Missouri going to do then?
It's good to see someone asking how in New York an "acting" interim judge appointed by other judges to fill a temporary shortage in a county court has the authority to jail the leading candidate in the next Presidential election.

They don't, but I expect that the argument is that forcing Trump to attend court proceedings or jail time in NY violates MO's right to free and fair elections for POTUS because federal law preempts the states from declaring violations of federal election law. How does NY get to declare that federal law was violated when the feds have made no such determination?
