This plan will destroy the grad school dreams of most American citizens who have such a plan because so many people from other countries will apply for 1 year Masters programs just so they can get the Green Card.

Trump definitely needs to reconsider this. I understand he wants to move to a more merit-based immigration system, but there should be nothing automatic about any green card. If an employer can prove a foreigner has some specific skill he can not otherwise find, then that’s one thing. But automatic green cards? Hell no. What about all the Chinese college students who are over here? The CCP would just love this policy.
It will only encourage academia to show their love for the foreign students even more, because their families willinness to pay anything helps prop up academia’s sky high tuitions.
Sounds like good bait for some democrat voters.
