Monroe was a supporter of colonization of former slaves in Africa--the capital of Liberia is named for him (Monrovia).

Isn't there a college in Chicago named in honor of Malcolm X, who had no ties to Chicago as far as I know (born in Nebraska, grew up in Michigan, later lived in Boston and New York City)?
