Big time.
I did some work for a client and the long-time workers were saying how the company started off with a guy and a truck. He was told he could either haul garbage or dirt. He decided on dirt.
He and the other dirt movers would play cards and the head of the “group” would tell them how to bid on the various jobs. The more senior guys would “win” the better jobs, and the lower guys would “win” the smaller jobs.
Although they said “Yeah - that was back then, 60 years ago. With his son and grandkids running it now it isn’t like that no more.” (maybe?)
