HIS PARENTS DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE BEEN BORN HERE——THAT IS NOT WHAT NBC SAYS.
THEY DO, HOWEVER, HAVE TO ALREADY HAVE THEIR USA CITIZENSHIP IN PLACE BEFORE HIS BIRTH IN USA.
ARTICLE 2
SECTION 1
CLAUSE 5 Constitution.
HE IS AN ANCHOR BABY, NOTHING MORE.
There's a certain amount of arguing at cross-purposes here, so pardon me if I am assuming something indirectly and in error.
I'm not scandalized that Vivek's parents weren't citizens when he was born--because he's not running for President that I know of. It is also my understanding that his parents were here legally when he was born--even if they were not citizens. So I would conclude that he isn't an anchor baby.
Since he is not NBC, I wouldn't favor him campaigning for President or VP himself, but consider that he would most likely be an asset for the good guys as a cabinet member or something analogous.
