Millionaires are abandoning the UK in droves, new research shows

LONDON — A record number of millionaires is expected to leave the United Kingdom this year, according to new research, with this year’s general election expected to further exacerbate the exodus.

The Henley Private Wealth Migration Report indicates that Britain will experience a net loss of 9,500 high-net-worth individuals in 2024 — more than double last year’s figure of 4,200 (which in itself was a record-high figure).

The U.K. came second to only China in Henley’s ranking, with the eastern Asian giant expected to see net outflows of 15,200 millionaires in 2024.

The projections mark a stark turnaround for Britain, once viewed as a prime location for the world’s super-rich. Henley, a consultancy that tracks migration trends, noted that between the 1950s and the early 2000s, the country saw swathes of rich families relocate to its shores from across mainland Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

“However, this trend began to reverse around a decade ago as more millionaires began to leave the country and fewer came in,” it said in its report.

Their public execution by guillotine could bring in huge dollars.

I don't think the French Revolution is an upgrade. All in all, the Royal Family, imperfect as it is, has an influence on England that has been more conservative than the alternatives (and that is despite Charles' tree hugging and WEF attendance notwithstanding). A majority of Brits like it that way. Not everyone has to be us.

“Charles’ tree hugging and WEF attendance notwithstanding”

That is a deal killer with me—they have declared war on average folks all over the planet.

History shows who will win that war.

Thinks can turn unfavorable awfully fast sometimes though.

No doubt. Friends one day, enemies the next. It can happen that quickly.

“I wonder if any are stupid enough to go to Calif. or New York state.”

One Florida Man recently took his son to Oakland, California to get a college education. Things didn’t go well.

Don’t know if he was a millionaire but the Florida Man was robbed of $3,000.

“So, where are they going?”

exactly ... was my first question given that the article gives a zero hint about that critical factoid ...

i can’t imagine that most places in the EU, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia are much (if any) better ... perhaps non-English speaking countries like Hungary? ... can some manage to flee to the U.S.?

I haven't been to Dubai but if you're wealthy and you have a young family, you may be better off in Dubai at this point.

If you want to live in the heart of Dubai, it will be expensive. But just outside, in areas like Amjaf, not so bad. I've felt safe there, no litter on the beaches, the store owners actually appreciate your business, etc. It's definitely got the safe feeling of say Singapore, but actually less expensive.

There is also a bit of a culture of a "weekend millionaire" that I was told about, where someone will save up for the entire year and then blow it on a vacation of sorts for the weekend with their friends: rent a fancy car/apartment, exclusive restaurants, nightclubs, etc. Which in the scheme of things, would probably cost less than an entire week at Disneyworld.

Too many "workers" in western countries have allowed themselves to get "worked" by the parasites.

This version of so-called "capitalists" (or as Jesus referred to them as "money-changers") simply "seized the day", taking wealth however/wherever opportunity presented("never let a serious crisis go to waste"...works best when you create the crisis)

They (parasites) know the western world is not long for collapse...surviving on debt and the fiat "currency" that they (parasites) helped to create (for the dual purpose of feeding their insatiable appetite, while pacifying the (screwed) masses, who would revolt if they weren't given their bowl of gruel to survive) .

They (parasites) tell their paid-puppets in the political world to keep throwing crackers to feed the peasants(that they've throttled)so they (parasites) may live large off the fruits of their fraud, without the chaos that would otherwise ensue (because of their fraud)...

...KNOWING full-well, once they (parasites) are safely DEAD, all hell will break loose...when all the Ponzi schemes (they built) collapse...and REALITY sets in, like a flood of sewage upon the masses suckers.

I saw that story. Sending the kid 3000 miles to get indoctrinated at Berkley is beyond stupid. I have no sympathy for the idiots.

Only $3,000?

It could just as easily been $3,000 and a son...

“So, where are they going?”

The writer gets a failing grade for not finding and including that information.
