Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) President Stacy Davis Gates told a news radio host that conservatives do not want Black children to read, adding that it is "part of the oath they take to be right wing."
In an interview published on WBBM News radio’s site on Sunday, the station’s political editor, Craig Dellimore, spoke with Davis Gates on "At Issue," about the union’s contract demands.

Every where there is a black woman in power, whether it is the law, academia, politics, sports or entertainment, they are a disaster. I really don’t know how it can be ignored.
Yeah, let's push hard for more wages and an LBFTQ agenda when the median salary is $69,400 for the school year. Maybe Chicago should work more on reducing the murders that take place each week.

Well, I’ve been conservative for all of my adult life, and I not only want blacks (and other minorities) to know how to read, I WANT them to all be incredibly successful (just like non-minorities). You see, the more successful someone is, the more they have a stake in a society and the more likely that they will strengthen and defend the system that allowed them to be successful. Given that I love our system (with all of its flaws) because it not only gave my family refuge a century ago, but it gave us opportunity, I want our system to continue and improve - THAT is what conservatives do, they conserve that which is (in their mind) good and decent, and hope to pass it on to the next generation.
Maybe this prejudiced moron should look a bit more closely at the left side of the political spectrum - that’s where you find the vast majority of racism, which is used to foster fear and division, which are calculated to increase the power of the Left over everyone in society (not merely minorities).

Conservatives have been TRYING to fix the mess the left made of the public schools for decades!
But the left is beholden to the teachers unions and doesn’t give a damn about black children’s education just as they don’t give a damn that blacks are almost exclusively the victims of crimes committed by other blacks that the left refuses to lock up!

There was a report here on FR a couple of months ago that the Chicago Unified School District received funding for over 20,000 iPads for remote learning during the pandemic…. And subsequently could not locate a single one of them. How much did that cost and who profited?!
