“I think the WNBA should cease to exist and then let Caitlin play on the men’s they-them team.”
She wouldn’t have a chance. She would be too small, too light, too slow, and would get knocked into the third row in the first two minutes.
The WNBA is financially supported by the NBA and that means the owners. They are there because they are getting closer to the men’s professional leagues in that they are getting bigger and more physical. But until they can get the size and strength women do not possess, they will be a mini version of the men’s league and will not transform into the street fight attitude that can impress the need for violence in the sport that sells tickets and jersies. But it might help if they took off the eye makeup during play and stopped trying to be the weaker sex doing it.
Over the last few years, there have been 13 women’s pro basketball leagues the failed...all financially. The NBA has been around since the late 1950’s. Last year the WNBA did $200M in sales while the NBA did $5B. And they finance the WNBA. It’s not a sport, it’s a business. And women’s leagues are doomed as they are an applied sale like buying rags with you house paint. You may or not need the rags, but you buy it anyway to wipe away mistakes.
