Yeah. I was a member in good standing of a lot of forums since 1997. Covid hit and I got canceled from six or seven of them. It was laughable. I was very friendly in my responses but they just didn’t like what I was saying and they would come back with terrible visceral and finally get me shut down. I don’t take our modern culture too seriously anymore. I also don’t post nearly as much as I used to because there’s just no point. You got to let things play out.
The plan is to have Gilligan move the pots closer to shore.

You can use it to fill up suburban swimming pools. All winter long, it’ll stay more or less frozen, then comes summer, you add some chlorine, turn on the filter, and it’s fun for all the family! Capitalism. Exploitation. It’s great!

The destruction of Aral Sea was caused by the Soviets taking all the inflow water to irrigate cotton. Nobody dared speak up against the projects. The Soviets knew that stopping inflow to the Aral Sea would destroy it, but they didn’t stop.

You forgot the “population bomb” of the 1960s.
What they did was drive down the price of beach front property so they could buy it up cheap.
Back when “The Coming Ice Age” was all the rage in the 1970’s, they were thinking of coating the ice on the poles with coal dust and oil. The dark color would adsorb the sun’s heat, thus saving the planet!
I guess they found out that the poles didn’t receive that much radiation antway..
IOW, a sort of North Africa at the time of Hannibal capable of supporting cropland and wildlife, including elephants.
