"Neither party has to, it’s already the law - it is automatic."

When do the politicians start following the laws again? We have a President (sorta) who is ignoring the USSC ruling about student loan forgiveness. We have an Attorney General who is ignoring a subpoena, and now a Contempt of Congress charge.

You have the various witch hunts and kangaroo impeachments and trials against the real President Trump. The impeachments were a farce about nothing. The first one even included the bogus Steel Dossier presented by the FBI to the FISA judges. A number of laws ignored there. The second impeachment was laughable about a phone call.

It also goes on and on down ticket. "Already law"? With respect, we lost that paradigm many years back. Now we just print more money and/or let our so-called representatives slide, depending who has the majority at the time.

Sorry, don't mean to lecture. Having read your posts for years, I'm sure you are aware of all of the above. Just wanted to point out to the lessor informed that the "law" is no longer the bulwark against lawlessness it once was.

Thanks, and the reason that the laws no longer work as written is that they are generally designed to work on the population of the country as it exists when the laws are written. When that population changes, and the voting then reflects those changes, the laws have to be QUICKLY UPDATED or they’ll lose effectiveness (at least when the population gets more ‘diversified’). A perfect example is the lack of laws against squatting - they weren’t needed until we reached a certain level of ‘diversification’, now they’re needed throughout the country.
