Most of that number is due to retirement.

Here are the people retiring from 2019 to 2022.

2022: 5.6 million

2021: 5.4 million

2020: 5.8 million

2019: 5.7 million

As assuming 2023 had similar numbers we are talk about about 28 million people retired since 2019, and assuming overwhelming majority as in 90-95% of them are baby boomers who were born in the US, that’s 25 million in raw jobs lost by native born, so -1.5 million net actually means around 23.5 million new US natives found jobs.

Are you suggesting that foreign workers are taking the same jobs that native Americans are retiring from?

Very unlikely.

About 75% of immigrants have limited English language skills.

In addition, the foreign university degrees that most immigrants bring to the USA are not accredited by USA employers.

Bottom Line - except for the Asian Indian software engineers, most foreign workers have limited skills and work lower middle class jobs.
