The Democrat Party changed their bylaws in 2022, so that once a nominee has accepted the nomination they can simply replace him at will for any reason should they drop out.

So they avoid a nasty primary by propping up Joe, he accepts the nomination at the convention and then he steps aside for whatever reason they want after.

This has been part of the plan, at least as an option from the start. The problem is who do they replace Biden with? And the convention isn’t until late August.

Leaving whoever steps in basically maybe 8-10 weeks to try to pull it together.

There are 2 problems with this action.

1) The Democrats don’t really have a superstar waiting in the wings that can step in.. the names they toss about, Newsome, Michelle, etc are all just laughable jokes. The party faithful will certainly vote for whoever the candidate is, but someone who’s going to really inspire and draw in the independents and motivate the base? No one really on deck.

RFK Jr, had the establishment not been so anti him because he attacks and understands the deep state, would have been a cake walk to the White House and I say that as a Trump supporter. So, he’s highly unlikely going to be it, so who?

The second problem is, simply time frame, 9 weeks or so is nothing.

So if they are going to replace Biden, they need to start pushing the alternative now, (actually should have been months ago) even while Biden’s still around.. So if this is the plan, then you should be seeing someone, anyone that they think they can replace him with, start to be all over the news, and talk shows, and various other circuits... running their campaign, while not “running their campaign”. So far I haven’t seem anything like this, but if this is their strategy keep an eye out, because it has to start now, they can’t wait until August, and they know it. They may wait to formally replace them in August, but they have to actually have them out campaigning now... and so far I see no one that’s filling that void.

I think the Dems biggest problem, as it typically is, is turnout. They solved it in Deep Blue cities with the Ballot harvesting, but that take logistics and organization and it's tough to scale to every state. If the 18-35 Dem vote isn't motivated by a sleepy creepy demented old man, a quick substitute with a Newsome telegenic type could turn out that group, and they don't vote on substance so the lack of time to campaign is a non issue. Your point about discerning Independents is probably the strongest point and the biggest weakness with a substituted candidate I would think.

Johnson (spit) resigned in March.
