Oklahoma primary election puts powerful Rep. Tom Cole on defense (Tuesday)

Oklahoma is one of three states holding key primary races next Tuesday, with newly appointed House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole‘s (R-OK) contest drawing more fireworks than the district has seen in years.

Oklahoma is one of several Republican strongholds with competitive primaries for House seats in 2024 as Democrats look to flip the lower chamber back to their side and the GOP seeks to expand its razor-thin majority.

Notable House races next week include Cole’s in the 4th Congressional District and Rep. Frank Lucas’s (R-OK) race in the 3rd District. Eyes are on the 4th District in particular, as Cole recently took the helm of one of the most powerful House committees.

Don’t know about Cole but Oklahoma voters need to get rid of James “illegal alien” Lankford.

True statement. Cole is a lot different from Lankford but then again, exactly like him. Some carpetbagger has moved into the district to primary Cole... one doesn't recall his name and it doesn't matter anyway. He's got a tax problem back home in Chicago, if one recalls correctly, which is being used against him to effect.

The BigAg interests will get Cole back in, unfortunately. Very unfortunately.

Lankford can thumb his nose at Oklahoma voters (and America) for the foreseeable future. We’re stuck with him until at least 2028.

Guys like Lankford need a protest alternative. Some well known, noteworthy conservative who tells the primary voters ‘you’re gonna have to give it to me. No campaigning the hurt the eventual nominee.
