Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Senate Republicans on Thursday announced a hold policy on numerous President Joe Biden nominees in response to the 46th president’s “radical lawfare” against former President Donald Trump and other political opponents.
Vance led an effort alongside Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and Eric Schmitt (R-MO) to block swift confirmation of roughly four dozen of Biden’s nominees throughout various positions of the government.
This includes judicial nominees, a nominee for deputy undersecretary for the Treasury Department, and a general counsel nominee for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).
Under the blockade, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would have to waste significant time to confirm the nominees.
The announcement comes as Trump is expected to meet with House and Senate Republicans on Thursday.
The Senate Republicans said in a joint written statement:
In a continuing response to the current administration’s persecution of President Donald Trump, we will not allow the fast-tracking of any Biden Article III court judicial nominees, as well as Biden U.S. attorney nominations. Further, we will not permit the fast-tracking of nominees who have suggested the Trump prosecutions were reasonable, endorsed President Trump’s guilt in these sham proceedings, joined or supported organizations that celebrated the indictment of President Trump, supported the “get-Trump” candidacy of Alvin Bragg, or supported lawfare or censorship in other ways. This complement to the pledge of May 31 will last until Election Day, when the American people will have the opportunity to decisively reject attempts to settle political disputes through the legal system.
While it is not our intent to bring any single nominee into disrepute, if our rights are challengedon the floor of the U.S. Senate, we will prosecute a...

Vance understands this tactic because he's lived it.
It’s about time.
What took them so long?
A brilliant manoeuvre. Way too late to be of any consequence, of course, but it looks and sounds real good.
Vance will make an excellent Senate Majority Leader.
But not a VP in 2024. Doesn’t add to the ticket, doesn’t bring in new votes.
JD it seems wants the job-VP.
Can’t put any senate seat at risk.
Here’s an idea: former NM Governor Susan Martinez. 64 years old. She’s young enough while we make a run for the hispanics. ‘28? I dunno.
Too many of the vetted ones are in the senate and again, not good.
Why do we hear nothing from the Republicans about Schumer and the Senate Democrats refusing to take up the Mayorkas Impeachment? The Senate couldn’t take up impeachment fast enough when Trump was involved.
The feckless Republicans should be talking about this every time the talk to the media about anything and they should not pass another spending bill and refuse to consider another appointment until this is done.
p
A couple of years late but I’ll take it.
SHUT BIDEN down. Sue him for violating the SCOTUS in student loan forgiveness.
This is like 8 Senators.
Thats 8 percent of the Senate.

I completely agree about the Senate seat and JDV. We need to hang on to that, and not let DeWine dictate who his replacement would be.
And I like your out of the box thinking about Martinez, but I don't remember enough about her. Good play for women and Hispanics, yes!
It got me to thinking as well. How about Michele Bachmann from MN? She's 68, and currently the Dean of the law school at Regent University, so she is up on the issues, and sharp and tough and experienced as hell. Photogenic, too. And if she could deliver Minnesota in November, that's 10 EVs, a HUGE win for Trump.
Trump’s VP doesn’t need to bring in new votes. He needs to be 100% on the Trump train, anti-deepstate and act as an insurance policy to ensure that they don’t take Trump out.
Let me guess....You think he needs to pick a black person, a woman or a “moderate Republican”? If so, you have learned nothing in the past 8 years.
>>>>But not a VP in 2024. Doesn’t add to the ticket, doesn’t bring in new votes.<<<<
What Vance adds to the ticket is he’s a street fighter, someone who’s not afraid to take the gloves off to defend Conservatism, someone who doesn’t care if the left likes him...and he’s smart to boot.
I think that once more people hear him speak and get acquainted with his views, they’ll be happy he’s Trump’s VP choice.
Good idea.....its a YEAR FRIKKIN LATE....but a good idea.
If he picks Vance, he will lose the EV by 100 votes.
But for you, it will be a moral victory.
Show me a moral victor and I will show you a loser.

Sure, if you’re a short-sighted “conservative”. And he will lose the EV by 100 votes.
Good start, but too bad a lot of GOP MAGA bigwigs who want to save America didn’t join. RNC should have joined, but a good faction of them want Trump imprisoned, too
Dems use gutter fighting all out of centuries old convention and norms. GOP needs to do the same.
Bachmann? Too much MTG in her. One’s enough-theory of diminishing returns.
>>>>And he will lose the EV by 100 votes.<<<<<
Why do you say that?
