I could NEVER understand how the Germans were able to gather up the Jews to make the holocaust even possible, HOWEVER to SEE today the stupidity in the Jewish community that EVEN ONE of them could vote democrat STILL is just absurd!! It is no wonder they were able to be marched into train cars and hauled off, they have LEARNED NOTHING from their history!!!
You'd be surprised to know that approximately 500,000 half and quarter Jewish men served in Hitler's Wehrmacht, despite his having stripped them of their German citizenship. After WWI, many German Jews built lives for themselves, and just wanted to be considered as "good Germans," moving away from their Jewishness. They married non-Jews. German Jews even discriminated against eastern Jews. They thought they were of a lower class, and wanted nothing to do with them. So when Hitler started cracking down on his racial laws, those Jews who had tried to rid themselves of their Jewishness, couldn't understand why they were being targeted.
Also, in some of the Ghettos, some of the leaders of those Ghettos believed the best way to deal with the situation was to cooperate with the Nazis, so when it came time to round people up to send them to "labor" camps, those leaders encouraged the people to go along. The Vilna (now in Lithuania) Ghetto leader had a saying, "A Jew with a job is a Jew with a future," and the people bought it.
This same Ghetto leader ignored the warnings of the resistance fighters in the Ghetto, that those people being taken away were being taken to their deaths.
This guy had quotas he had to fill for the Nazis, so he did his best to comply. He had just sworn in 200 new auxiliary policemen from within the Ghetto to help with rounding the people up. When he ended up being short 200 people for the Nazi quota, he told all those new policemen to go to the gate of the Ghetto, and they'd be met by somebody who would take them to where the people were hiding. When they got there, they discovered that they were the missing 200 bodies, and were shipped out to Estonia. In September 1943, that Ghetto was liquidated, and days later that Ghetto Leader was arrested and executed. That's what his cooperating with the Nazis got him.
