Florida Supreme Court Upholds DeSantis’s Suspension of Progressive Prosecutor

The Florida supreme court on Thursday upheld Governor Ron DeSantis’s decision last year to suspend progressive state attorney Monique Worrell, who claims she was unjustly fired for political reasons.

The court’s justices voted 6-1 to keep the suspended attorney out of a job. Worrell, who is running for office in November to regain her Orlando-area position, argued that the DeSantis’s justification for suspending her was too vague and that the decision infringed on her prosecutorial discretion. Most members of the court, five of whom were appointed by DeSantis, disagreed.

DeSantis suspended Worrell last August through an executive order on grounds of neglect of duty and incompetence for failing to prosecute crimes. Worrell has a long history of reducing or dropping charges against violent offenders, drug traffickers, serious juvenile offenders, and pedophiles

This is holding wrongdoers accountable appropriately, not retribution or revenge.

Something I hope Trump keeps in mind.

There’s a reason governor DeSantis won the last election 59% to 39%.

Only reason it was so close against Gullium is a couple of liberal activist election supervisors in S. Florida......and he put their butts in the unemployment line just like this one.

In August of 2023 in Orlando, multiple people (7) were shot by a criminal named Daton Viel. Two of his victims were police officers. During a prior arrest, his so-called State attorney failed to file paperwork that would have notified a judge that Viel was a career violent criminal and that notification would have kept him in jail - something she had a habit of doing. She's a racist POS whose only concern is giving a break to “her people”.

Where is line between accountability and retribution? If Biden, the Attorney General, and Department of Justice prosecutors were shown to have engaged in a conspiracy to violate Trump’s civil rights, should they be prosecuted or forgiven?
