Garland was asked about restoring McCabe’s pension. The lame excuse he gave was that it was going to cost the DOJ more to fight the case in court than the pension was worth. Also the 2 FBI lovebirds just reached some sort of financial settlement for having their text messages exposed.
What a lame excuse ! It almost always costs more to prosecute a thief than he stole. That is NOT THE POINT AT ALL !
Nobody should walk away with a big pension who has committed crimes as a federal government employee. In fact, such a criminal should be sentenced to paying a huge fine so he cannot profit from some lucrative TV news contract.
The crime is what is punished and the dollar amount of a serious criminal’s prosecution is irrelevant.
