Similar experience with my father as he was about to pass in Jan 2016. He said something about the Cubs not winning the WS in the 82 years of his life. I spoke of it at his service and said "watch, they'll win it this year". As it would be, they did win the WS in 2016. Selfishly, I wonder if my Dad had something to do with that.
