FBI Whistleblower Regains Security Clearance Following Jan 6. Claims

A former FBI staff operations specialist who had his security clearance suspended over "security concerns" about his "allegiance to the United States" has won a settlement with the bureau, his attorneys said on Tuesday.

Marcus Allen had his security clearance revoked in 2022 when the FBI claimed Allen had withheld "relevant information" related to the Jan 6. defendants. The bureau cited concerns over how his views of the Jan 6. protests were affecting his work, according to a letter the FBI sent Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio.

Allen was one of three men who accused the FBI of overreach and retaliation in a May 2023 testimony to the House committee investigating the weaponization of the federal government against conservatives.

The people who did this should lose their jobs, all the way up to Wray.

Allen formally resigned from the FBI on Monday.

He goes through all that grief, gets reinstated as vindicated, and THEN quits?

That's just weird. Need to know more but it's not in this story.

He’s disgusted with the FBI, but he knows he’s worth a lot more on the commercial market with a security clearance reinstated. I get it.

We did. We always figured that there were 1% good agents, but they were being made to look bad by the other 99%.

Enlighten me. What kind of commercial jobs requiring a security clearance are there for a criminal investigator? More importantly, if he's got the juice to stick this out for so long, why not go back and see what one can do about the situation? If against all odds Trump takes over, it might mean a significant promotion is in the offing, which isn't that far into the future. Besides, it might be fun to watch one's torporvisors and co-conspirators bite their tongues with a lawsuit hanging over their heads.

Having a high security clearance is VERY valuable in the private sector.

For what? All I can envision is technical jobs involving military equipment, not what an FBI agent would do. Enlighten me.

Any company that has contracts with the federal government is eager to higher employees who have security clearances.

1. Any number of governmtne contractors would pay top dollar for “retired FBI Special Agent with TS clearance”, and his training involves much more than simply criminal investigation. Also, those stills are eminently transferable to another career.
2. I wasn’t saying it’s what I would have chosen, just that it’s a perfectly understandable choice.

Then you are both. Anyone familiar with my article posting history would know better, which you should have consulted before making an a$$ of yourself, thus proving your mouthing to be a simpleton's projection.

I'm simply too busy generating original content to bother with what is likely to be a fruitless search result full of advertising when there are so many people on this site who do that kind of work and are capable of supplying a reliable answer with examples. The FR of old would have done that.
