Its no secret to anyone on FR that I think most of this stuff especially the court cases are pantomime. But I didn’t think Trump would agree to go to jail. I guess he has. It will certainly set a lot of things in motion and open a couple of pathways to postponing the election which I fully expect to happen. One thing for sure its going to get kray kray.

I suspect this is true, and the judge will give Trump about 4 months (released the day after the election) and look gracious.

He can sentence Trump to whatever he likes. There is no way Trump isnt on the streets minutes after the sentence. This guy cannot deny bail while awaiting appeal and he knows the verdict will be overturned eventually. This is all symbolic IMHO and trying cast Trump as Jeffery Dahmer when in reality he is an innocent man. It is already backfiring spectacularly.
When the Dems realize that this is all backfiring, they will give him a “light” sentence, maybe a $1 million fine.

Just thought I’d throw this out there, because I haven’t heard it brought up much since the verdict was announced. We still have the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity pending. It’s possible that the New York ruling could be at least partially reversed by that ruling. I don’t think it’s likely, but it is possible. The decision is expected to be announced some time this month.
