NYC and London both have very effective subways and metros for the masses to ride.

In the brochures only. That rental car in New York probably saved your life. You'd be a fool to take the city subway system as a tourist. Most people take shuttle busses, car services, or use ride share programs.

There's a perverse incentive for politicians to continue making cities unlivable for the peons and then charge them to come in and work or visit there.

If congestion is a problem in a city, fix the city so people can live there.

Saw this reported earlier today in the New York Times. The Times’ news “story” was basically a left-wing hissy-fit that she betrayed environmentalists, public employee unions and activists (i.e., Communists) by not agreeing to the tax.

I have a metropass and take the subway regularly when in NYC same for the tube in London. I am a tall and big guy 230lbs+ with a skinhead and huge Viking sized beard with a not too pleasant demeanor people tend to not make eye contact and get out of my way. It’s also obvious I am a biker even when not in leathers my visible ink gives that away. I most recently was in NYC January this year for 6 days I uber’d late at night to avoid a NYCs finest and the PI charge not the subway people.

The problem with waiting to enact congestion pricing after the 2024 election is that the NYC mayoral election is the very next year, 2025.

I wonder if those "migrants" will be voting in 2025, 'cause Eric Adams is going to need it if Hochul pulls this stunt.
