What isn’t answered is (1) what happens after ballots printed? and (2) What happens once voting starts and has not finished?
Ballots do not matter.
The State Legislature is ultimately responsible for appointing the Electors.
If Electors pledged to a dead man are “chosen” by the voters, the State Legislature will provide them with alternate instructions.
