An anti-Islam campaigner who was stabbed at a far-Right rally in Germany has described the rampage as an 'absolute nightmare' - as he warned the assault was an 'attack against our free democratic state'.
Michael Stuerzenberger - a well-known German Islam critic - and five others including a policeman were injured when the knifeman launched a frenzied attack in Mannheim on Friday.
Mr Stuerzenberger, who was seen preparing to speak to a small crowd on a livestream earlier in the morning, was rushed to hospital before undergoing a successful surgery for the stabbing injuries to his face.
A 25-year-old man from Afghanistan, who was shot and wounded by police, has been released from hospital and remanded in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Speaking for the first time from his hospital bed, Mr Stuerzenberger told BILD: 'It was like an apocalypse. He was stabbing me, even when I was lying on the floor and was trying to fight him off with my feet. It really was a nightmare.'
He added: 'Every attack is an attack against all of us, against our free democratic state and those who ensure our security. Who attacks a police officer launches an attack against all of us.'

In fact, it’s already in Michigan, we just aren’t aware of how dangerous it is yet, because nobody is counter-demonstrating in those areas. They are effectively no-go zones.
Stabbing is actually the preferred method among these jihadis. Any detective can tell you stabbing is especially personal — it’s driven by an intense hatred or rage, and usually means the perp is someone close to the victim.
But that’s not what this is. Islam encourages hatred and fosters a duty to murder kafirs and infidels, especially Jews but ultimately everyone outside of Islam; this jihadi was fulfilling his duty to his faith. And you can bet his actions are celebrated among his Islamic peers.
There is no “golden rule” in Islam. There is only submission to Islam or death. For those allowed to live under sharia, they must pay the jizya or convert to Islam. In Islamic societies the third option is death.
This won’t work. Look at BLM: one dead drug dealer and they come out in force and burn the place down. Same with the muz. Until they are paid back tenfold it won’t even slow down, much less stop. We know what we have to do.
