The sooner the Jews accept that this is either their last stand - or precipice to victory, depending on one’s stance - the better for those who survive.
Their battle is not about the living - OR the hostages:
It’s about the existential risk to their future, i.e., their children’s survival.
Maybe Bibi will have to declare martial law.
A lot depends on whether you believe the Israeli will to victory is rising or fading.
In 1967 the enemy targets were air bases. In 2023, it was a drug fueled all night rave.
Israel is not what it was in 1967. The results in Gaza suggest that they may be past peak martial virtue, which would not be surprising when you consider who the colonels and generals of 1967 were and what their teens and twenties in Europe were like.
Most of the "what is to be done" coming out of Israel consists of things that will never happen, like a "two state solution" or security imposed by "the West", or "the international community", or the "rules based order", all of which means the US military.
In order for Israelis to envision either their "last stand" or "victory", you had better count out those who hold US citizenship or who own property in the US. Those people know they have options. How many "Israel only" people are of fighting age and are not overcome by leftist peacenik thinking will determine the final act in theis 75-year long war.
