Jordan is more likely compromised than bought as the primary driver.

I think Jordan exposed himself in the whole opposition to electing McCarthy Speaker. MAGA supported him for Speaker, but he wouldn't vote for himself. Jordan is an establishment guy who merely plays to the base but doesn't actually deliver much. He has no teeth.
