This is almost certainly true. Democrats are constantly offering free stuff to people and too many Republicans pretend it has no effect. It’s extremely effective. Trump has at least realized this with Social Security. I’m glad he threw away the obsession with privatizing it that Dubya, Mittens, and Paul Ryan had.
