Oh no, that’s awful! I’m glad you found a good hand surgeon eventually, that had to be very frustrating for years.
I had a coke bottle break on me when I was a teenager, I was setting it down in the glass went into my thumb, severing the tendon. My dad was in the military so I was very very lucky, they called in a hand surgeon specialist that grafted a tendon. I still can’t bend the thumb but it’s a lot more useful being straight than bent back. It was also painful to use it that way, but now I have no pain at all. It’s lasted 50 years! Knock on wood.
Yikes! Severed tendon? That’s pretty deep. I’ll bet that bled like mad. Good thing your dad was there for you!
