People I know have had VA care say the care is great but the wait to get the care...well, that’s not so great.
Was never in combat, never seriously hurt and figured I’d leave my “share” of VA to the people who need/deserve it far more than I.
Finally, I guess I’ve got the same attitude about gummint as my Dad and most of the Montana rednecks I run with: Only thing we really want from gummint is to be left the hell alone.
“figured I’d leave my “share” of VA to the people who need/deserve it far more than I.”
That’s very sweet.
I’m told the VA here is really good, veterans relocate here after retirement because of it. We had some good friends, he was having lots of vision problems and the VA here even sent him to Duke for surgery. Because we didn’t have the specialist. They moved somewhere to North carolina, and said the healthcare was awful, they were rude to him, yelled at him, a 70 plus year old veteran going blind, and did nothing to help him. They moved back here and they immediately sent him to a blind School in Arizona to help him deal with the changes.
I don’t know how it could be so much different from one VA to another.
Montana? We looked in your area, I’m having movers remorse at times, thinking we should have gone there. The locals are not exactly what I thought they would be.
