Wise to hold on to all of those old appliances and furnishings.
You never know when something might need an emergency replacement. And, it seems like it’s ALWAYS something! Especially with newer appliances.
My Electric bill proves I appreciate the power it gives me! The storms we had was not that bad but must of hit a main transformer in all our area! I wonder what these Utility companies do with with all our high increase in our eclectic bills! The linemen do amazing work as always! Thank goodness for our people working under any circumstances!
I’m blessed to have a versatile nephew who knows how to do almost everything and a cousin who has bailed me out a few times.
It would be wonderful to do some remodeling but I had to replace a hot water heater in January to the tune of about $500, so any large scale projects are out-of-the-question.
I’m just grateful to have a good roof over my head and a sturdy stone ranch house that’s managed and protected in a trust, of which my aforementioned cousin is trustee.
Mom was stationed in England during WWII. She was hospitalized with cellulitis from a tooth extraction. (Generals stood by her bed to determine if she was sick enough to take penicillin) And while she was in the hospital, she could hear her unit fly over on their way to Normandy.

The Department of Defense (DOD) is being roasted online for accidentally posting a rainbow LGBTQ pride graphic to recognize PTSD Awareness Month in an embarrassing social media gaffe. The month of June has been designated as PTSD Awareness Month by the federal government since 2014, a year before it also became recognized as Pride Month, Fox News reported.
“June is PTSD Awareness Month and the DoD is committed to supporting service members and veterans affected by PTSD,” the department wrote on X.
“If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. “You are not alone,” the post’s caption said.
Instead of posting a graphic in support of veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, the DOD posted an image of the “Progress Pride Flag” along with the phrase “Celebrate Pride Month 2024” to its 6.5 million followers.
The post was later deleted and replaced upon recognizing the mistake, but it was too late.
