Long before Donald Trump's hush-money trial concluded, I predicted that his conviction was a forgone conclusion – despite the obvious weakness of the case against him.
Had the prosecution been brought in another part of the country, or even in another part of New York State, which was more fairly balanced with anti and pro-Trump voters, I am in little doubt that the outcome would have been different.
But instead, on Thursday, Trump became the first former president to be found guilty of a crime – convicted on all 34 flimsy counts of 'falsifying business records.'

I’m gonna say “when the judge granted 99.99% of Ahole Bragg’s motions”.
Bragg had 12 pet monkeys.
For anyone that doesn’t want to scroll halfway through the article to see what Dershowitz said:
“In his closing instructions, Judge Juan Merchan exposed his already apparent bias once more – telling the jurors that they didn’t actually have to agree on the specifics of Trump’s unlawful behavior.
How could someone defend themselves against such vague allegations?
It was at this moment that I became convinced that the jury would find him guilty.”
History shows this will not be limited to political opponents, but to supporters as well.

It was a set up from the beginning. Not sure why this guy is saying Trump should fire all of his lawyers - it wouldnt have mattered.

Bears repeating.
Bannon interviewed Dersh last night and Bannon compared what happened to Nazis. Dersh said, “Oh, it’s not that bad. Trump never will be sent to a gulag.”
I’m thinking, “Seriously?!? Of COURSE he easily could be sent to the USA’s version of a gulag; we just don’t use that exact word.”
After the interview, Bannon mentioned the same thing — that he disagreed with Dersh on that point.
And Dershowitz ... says he “loves Hillary” and voted for her. Also voted for Biden.
I’m suspicious about the 2 lawyers they had on the jury. Were they guiding the jury?

I just want to see it one time at least used against the Left and anyone prominent in the democrat party.
Yet not one red state DA has made a peep...
I don’t think elected Republicans are taking this serious.
“They’re not after me, they’re after you, I just happen to be standing in the way.” -Trump
This needs to be the overriding theme of this election. Repeat it early and often.
Freisler was a Bolshevik. Hitler would always refer to him, as “That Old Bolshevik”, and Freisler took his inspiration from Vyshinskii.
Absolutely. How else will they be able to control us (I mean there are lots of ways, but this is the most fear-inducing).
The allowance of this farce (which is only one of many) only serves to formally divide the Blue form the Red States. Blue states will keep this up, and Red States will do the same. Thus, putting into motion a fast roll towards Civil War II and splintering the country further. If they have no qualms about doing this to a President, they’ll have no qualms about doing it to you or I. Which, based on the actions of this FJB mis-administration, I have to believe is their plan.

With all due respect, “...people like you and ME.”
“It was a set up from the beginning. Not sure why this guy is saying Trump should fire all of his lawyers - it wouldnt have mattered.”
It’s a troubling comment which, IMHO, might mean that Dershowitz is being disingenuous here. On one hand, he claims it was a set up and on the other he blames Trump’s attorneys.
Fact is, both can be true at the same time... ie that it was a set up and also that Trump’s attorneys did a poor job of defending him. But in the end, like you correctly stated, it probably wouldn’t have mattered had Trump’s lawyers done an excellent job. The outcome was pre-ordained (and pre-ordered).
“Not sure why this guy is saying Trump should fire all of his lawyers“
It shows he still has faith in the Judicial system but you are correct it would have made no difference. This was a total rig job.
