They tried bombing in January. And they gave up on that and tried diplomacy in February.
But the Houthis are still going, and just shot down their 6th Reaper. ( 6 * $30 million each)
Apparently it is not the Houthis who need a “climbdown”.
The carriers probably weren’t doing the diplomacy.
It sounds like the Carrier forces haven’t been fully tried yet.

The task force has been attacking the Houthis since December. The Suez Canal has been closed for nearly 6 months.
What are they waiting for to use “full force”, whatever that is ?
The military is told what to do by civilian leadership, if they ever get a go ahead to use full force, they will, but they haven’t.
Your complaining should be about the civilians, not trying to paint our American military as doing everything it can and it not being effective.

The problem is hitting mobile drone launchers which immediately launch and leave.
Same issue in Ukraine, with both drone launchers, missile launchers and mobile artillery.
