Report: One Juror Appears Sympathetic to Donald Trump

One juror who sat for six weeks listening to the evidence presented in a Manhattan courtroom against former President Donald Trump reportedly appears sympathetic towards him.

The jury on Wednesday will begin to consider whether or not Trump, beyond a reasonable doubt, committed a crime of falsifying records to conceal a second crime. Many legal experts believe there is no good case against Trump.

Some legal experts, such as constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley, expect the jury will either render a guilty verdict or produce a hung jury that results in a mistrial.

I have been on juries twice. In both instances, I was surprised at how a group of ordinary people could collectively arrive at a sound decision. If done properly, the jury system works reasonably well, most of the time.

A greedy juror sees 11 votes to convict and thinks, ka-ching, not guilty. The first communication will offer a small amount. If he asks for a reasonable amount, Soros and friends will pay.

A greedier juror would record evidence of this and take it to Trump, make even more.

Either way, he’s looking over his shoulder the rest of his life.

This is a unsequestered jury. Even the judge can’t suddenly change the jury from unsequestered to sequestered after the closing arguments. It seems observers in the court are saying 8 jurors definitely hate Trump, 1 juror likes Trump, and the other 3 jurors are hiding their biases.

Oh, the appeals have already begun. A whole host of them.

Nice judicial system. Judge shops around until he has 12 jurors who would convict regardless of the evidence.

There are two lawyers on this jury. This morning during the discussion on Fox, they speculated that the other jurors might ask the lawyers for advice on understanding things.

This made me wonder--if this happens, can the lawyers bill the other jurors for their advice afterwards?

As a retired lawyer, my natural sympathies are with the “go ahead and bill” point of view, but that would not be allowed in those circumstances for lack of an attorney-client relationship.
