The officer that held him down had a troubled history, including if I recall correctly with Floyd. He held him down despite the other officers saying Enough. He killed him. Doesn't matter that the was a criminal, that he was on drugs, whatever. He was a bad person. But the officer's actions caused his death there and then on that street.
Bottom line, stop making excuses for bad cops, it hurts all cops. Starting first with the officers that were on the scene, some newly minted, their careers over before they even got started.
