Can’t recall that Mayberry had a single resident, or visitor for that matter, of the high melanin skin content persuasion. Not my experience traveling through any towns in any part of the South. Being a 60’s Democrat, Andy probably set up roadblocks and checkpoints.

Pretty much reflects that town today. The fictional town of Mayberry is located just south of the Virginia State Line in northern Surry County but is NOT the biggest town of Mt. Airy were most of the few county residents of the high melanin skin content live.
