Do you know how many square meters of surface water is in all of the seas? This big chunk of ice would just go bloop and nobody would notice.

Rush used to say: "Run the numbers" whenever the lefties made absurd statements. I heard him first say that regarding the rain forest. We are losing Brazilian rainforest at the equivalent of an area the size of Montana every year, was the specific issue. as I recall.

Regarding the ocean: 139.5 million sq. miles (361 million square km.)of ocean cover the earth's surface.

At two feet of rise and 640 acres per square mile you would have (640x2) x 139.5m = 178,560 billion acre ft. of water.

and going further: 325,000 (rounding off) gallons per acre foot, gives us: 58,000 Trillion gallons

The comment is beyond absurd.

That's how big this chunk of ice is. Although the two foot rise is if the entire thing completely melts, which means the sun either blew up or someone put the Earth in an oven.
