"1-16.200 - DEADLY FORCE Law enforcement officers and correctional officers of the Department of Justice may use deadly force only when necessary, that is, when the officer has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another person."

Says it all right there. An unarmed president, protected by armed Secret Service Agents on lawful duty, present no reasonable threat of vilonce to the officers or any other person conducting this search.

There was no reasonable expectation that the officer were in any danger whatsoever. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.

And then there is the little problem of threatening force against a former President being a felony under which Garland and his henchmen need to be rounded up and thrown in jail.
