I think President Trump now has a good idea of who Major Michael Haley is and what he is doing in the Horn of Africa. His military effort there is coping with the drought crisis and mass displacement after years of civil conflict. In giving him public recognition, Major Haley’s attitude towards Trump should get favorable support.

It's not been much different than the RDS supporters who rarely give a constructive comment about Trump. And there were a lot of you.

I'm not certain this will help Trump at all, nor will it particularly hurt him. She did not have many loyal R fans, most of them were crossover Ds trying to cause trouble.

One last thought: It did take a ridiculous amount of time for her to give this guarded announcement. Compare that to Vivek who did so immediately and with great enthusiasm. Even RDS did the right thing early.
