If I read the article correctly it was not lost seats they lost to republican challengers, this was not a general election but a primary, of course yahoo writes it up in a way to always discourage republican making you think they lost seats overall.

Be wary of the constant propaganda all the media outlets pump out, they never let up with the lies.

it's literally the third word in the title. While I don't disagree that Yahoo is generally excessively liberal, the title here isn't.
