Why do I get the feeling that Merchan is looking for an out to this fiasco but something or someone is forcing him to proceed. Don't know. Maybe because you think Merchan is concerned with his image?
Merchan is fixated on "getting Trump".
In general, leftists are not worried about procedure or rules. What they want is results. How they get the results is not very relevant.
