That makes me wonder what the whole Pecker testimony was about. I thought Bragg was trying to establish a conspiracy between Cohen, Pecker, and Trump to hide bad news by "buying" the stories and then not printing them, or paying NDAs to people to stay quiet.
Now Bragg is saying no conspiracy charge? Well, technically that's true but only because he's refused to state what crime was being furthered by fraudulent business records.

Further, without a conspiracy, they can't bring Trump into the circle of payments at all, since Pecker made the payments in the course of his own business interests.

*Being Elected* is the crime President Trump was furthering.
It’s a super-special crime that applies ONLY to Donald J. Trump. (For the time being.)

A sidebar on fox news is saying the prosecution is not accusing Trump of conspiracy. I wonder if they will downgrade to lower charge to save something in this case.
