Horrific week for the prosecution. Hung jury now looks like the likeliest outcome.
I’m SURE you’re right; they don’t want the jury to start deliberating immediately after this buffoon finishes testifying. We still don’t know if the defense will call any witnesses, correct? Like the only one I think they should call is Costello...
I wonder if dragging this out is pissing off the jury.
(Probably won’t matter)..
Defense told judge they have several witnesses. One in the back of court building.
I’m thinking expert on campaign election laws. Can’t recall his name.
Have to log out. Have. an appointment to meet. Will drop in when I can for updates.
It really sounds like the whole case and court is falling apart. More lies by Cohen, technical issues, and the judge flailing about refusing to allow witnesses. Can the jurors look beyond political bias to see what a farce this is? Will the judge throw in the towel and issue a directed verdict?
Yes, had to do the same earlier. This is very addictive. Unbelievable history.
Zero chance for directed verdict from this crooked and conflicted judge. As for the jury, gut tells me four (maybe five?) harbor reasonable doubt. Maybe even a hard No in the mix.
Re-direct can only be about things that came out during cross, and re-cross can only be about things that came out in re-direct. They keep going until there is nothing new that comes out.

My hunch is defense wanted to move for closing arguments, with Cohen’s disastrous performance as the last impression. Prosecution obviously wants to delay, as the losing side always does. This may well just irritate the jury even more.

I'm not sure what "crime" occurred in 2017 that President Trump was trying to cover up with falsified business records to protect his campaign in 2016.
That's some weird time-warp going on there. That just goes to show how vague Bragg is being about what this other "crime" actually is. If he can't define it, then President Trump must have the presumption of innocence regarding it.

Given the prosecutions delaying tactics, it’s now a near certainty that Costello will be called by the defense.
Bingo!
We'd all like that feature... 😉

Like I think you or others mentioned earlier, a hung jury and mistrial likely.
😆😆😆
It’s basically the best we can expect from a jury drawn from a Manhattan jury pool.
In any almost any other jurisdiction, the case would not have even been brought, never mind indictment and trial.
And yet the judge won't allow Trump to call the former head of the FEC as an expert witness to discuss personal versus campaign spending.
But stopping the trial so a C-SPAN archivist can authenticate a photo?!? No problemo.
