That’ll yank the rug out from under about 80% of the businesses in this country. Don’t expect many Americans to run out and fill those openings at the wages they pay illegals.

“Don’t expect many Americans to run out and fill those openings at the wages they pay illegals.”

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

I remember years ago when a Kansas meat packing plant all but shut down because they’re illegal workers left, I can’t remember why. They had to raise wages by a couple of dollars and then they had all sorts of applicants.

ps. Businesses that higher illegals undercut all their competition unfairly, because they avoid paying things like Social Security and workers compensation, in many cases. They also pay lower wages. Ask any business that is trying to do their work legally that deal with construction or lawn care.

Smart business owners KNOW they cannot have employees that cannot read/write/speak ENGLISH & can NOT handle money.

IN THE LONG RUN—they are not saving.

Lack of decent work ethics & results & REWORKING things over & over will catch up with such short cuts.
