Law schools used to teach professional ethics. Like medical schools used to teach the Hypocratic oath of “Do no harm” or commit no abortions, etc. Ha!
We used celebrate and count on attorney-client privileges but again, Ha!, that does not apply when Citizen X is former President Trump.
Angther glaring offshoot of such teaching was never put a witness on the stand who is a perjurer or whom you suspect is a likely candidate to lie under oath. Nonetheless Bragg trotts out serial and convicted perjurer former attrney for Trump Cohen. What a complete travesty.
And if Trump had or has anything like an Executive Privilege for having been President, don’t worry, Biden ordered Garland to waive or, to otherwise nullify such protections. In other words, all rights and priyileges afforded to American citizens, or even illegal immigrants DO NOT APPLY TO OR PROTECT TRUMP!
That’s Hippocratic for doctors (after Hippocrates). Lawyers still do the hypocratic one.
“Do no harm” is not in the Hippocratic Oath.
I took the oath, the real one, in 1976. It’s almost impossible for a graduating medical student to take it now, there are dozens of “modern” versions (I bet you can imagine the content).
I can imagine myself giving the oath in a basement somewhere to people who know the password.
