Because he knows A) They are all dead. And B) The people who were in charge of the hostages are dead and no one knows where they are buried.
The hostages were pretty much dead on the first day. At least for purposes of rescue. It’s a cold hard fact when dealing with the PLO/Hamas/Hezzbolah.
