I remember this goof for long gas lines, remarkably high inflation and interest rates, the abandonment of Iran, the Department of Education, amnesty for draft dodgers (his first official act), high unemployment.

In addition I remember him and his assistant Andy Young as being viciously anti-Israel and an obstacle to peace in the Middle East.

Also it is fortunate that he admitted to "conscupience" (strong sexual desire) back during the 1976 election campaign. This was in the early years of the sexual revolution and was possibly done to make him appear human for that era. If he admitted that now, the feminists would declare him a rapist.

I don't. I remember Carter trying to steer a middle course, which led to the Camp David Accords.

I suppose some Israel supporters were upset at Carter because he tried to get both sides to compromise, instead of agreeing with 100% of what Israel wanted.

In the end, Carter bribed both Israel and Egypt into signing the Camp David Accords, which I'm not happy about. Not because it helped or hurt Israel or Egypt, but because it's cost us money to this day.

Yet that might be considered his greatest achievement.
