DES MOINES, Iowa — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is gearing up to lend a financial hand to former President Donald Trump, marking a significant shift in their political relationship, according to AP sources.

Two people familiar with the matter, who spoke on anonymity, disclosed that DeSantis is set to start fundraising efforts for Trump in the upcoming weeks, aligning with his pledge made during a recent meeting with the former president.

Trump does appear to me to have a personality quirk.

He’s the prototypical NYC prick that’s wildly successful. Think George Steinbrenner with a crapton more money. Great guy to have on your side. Ruthless otherwise.

Trump is the guy we need.

“I’ve lived here for 85% of my life and seen many governors come and go.....he is in the top 2 or 3 IMO.”

Who would you rank ahead of him?

I’d really be interested to hear who they are.

Jeff Roe came to mind immediately. I didn't like him back when I supported Cruz! Looking more closely at his background, he seems to be mainly a hired gun who mostly supports good guys.

Your question is fair, and I remember a visceral reactionm late in the primary (for Desantis) when he seemed to be seeking money and support from strange places, rather than the Ramaswamy approach. But I do not have names in hand so I will withdraw the complaint.

"DeSantis could still end up as VP, stranger things have happened

Oh man...wouldn't that get some panties in a twist around here...LOL. That would probably out-rival the Ukrainski threads (and rancor).

I love it. I know Florida would hate to see DeSantis taken away from them, but he would be a great VP...maybe eventual Prez!!!

Thanks for the ping.

I think he’s more useful as governor. What do VPs do? Attend funerals?

Yes...he is absolutely great as the Guvner in FL. I live in NC...and would hate to see him leave FL. He keeps the Left in tears.

We need good Governors every bit as much as a good POTUS. They set the example for other Governors.

It’s called a Primary and after the Primary we all come together to support the nominee/,What don’t you understand about our system?

That certainly happened with Jeb Bush, didn’t it? Jeb could have been a VP candidate, don’t you think?

🤔, yeah, it’s early. SARCASM because the Old Rules of Politics were abandoned a long time ago.

The office of POTUS has gone downhill since Slick Willie played saxophone on Arsenio Hall.

I cannot Disagree with anything you say. It shows DeSantis’s character that he is doing the right thing. Some of our party have too much hubris to do that
